Where do you go O' child of the night
As you wander through this city of souls?
A million brilliant lives are burning bright
With so many dreams and so many goals.
As you wander through this city of souls
Trying your best to make sense of your life,
With so many dreams and so many goals
That got lost some where in all of the strife.
Trying your best to make sense of your life
Walk down darkened streets searching for a star
That got lost somewhere in all of the strife.
There's no light tonight, and nothing but noir.
Walk down darkened streets, searching for a star,
One glowing glitt'ring soul who'll be your sun.
There's no light

Bridge Over a River of Souls
Between classes I often go to a sort of elevated plaza between the two buildings Gladfelter and Anderson. I stand at a railing and look down at the people as they walk by. The best time for it is the ten minute window between all the classes ending and other classes beginning. Hundreds of people rush out of Gladfelter and Anderson. I only see the backs of those people, rarely do I see their faces. But after a few minutes an equally large crowd heads toward the two buildings to get to their classes. They come in waves, controlled by the traffic cop on the street just a short distance from where I stand. Their waves meet the now thinning w
Maybe you can't see in the dark,
but the light can also blind you.
In the end government is a choice between security and freedom.
It's no good trying to live like there's no tomorrow,
cause then what do you do when tomorrow comes?
Which is worse: to have enemies but no friends, or to have neither?
Clearly this world belongs to those with friends.
The solitary are left behind.
We are not minds,
We are souls.
Plato said "the unexamined life is not worth living." The more I examine my life the more I find it's not worth living.
In my experience enlightenment comes and goes.
I wonder how many people are out searching for the means w
What happens to a moment once the moment's passed?
Does any vestige remain? Does the instant last?
When the now becomes the then what does it go through?
When the time just flies away where does it fly to?
Where do all the seconds go? The minutes and the hours?
Where are all the burnt out stars and the wilted flow'rs?
And all the silenced laughter and all the faded smiles?
When you reach your journey's end where are the traveled miles?
Are they in an instant gone as if they never were?
Then all the things we've ever done never did occur?
The past no more than memories that now have never been?
There is nothing but the now and all e
It's twelve thirty, the lights are off, yet Hypnos remains at bay.
Silent, still, and still awake, in my bed I lay.
And while I wait for sleep to come I stare in to my soul,
And ponder all the questions whose answers cannot be told.
What's it all for? where am I going? with what is it that I'm dealing?
These questions are written in the darkness upon my bedroom ceiling.
I'm in the dark at one AM. I still can't catch a wink.
Then I start thinking thoughts that are dangerous to think:
Just what have I accomplished? what is my total worth?
What deeds have I performed that would justify my birth?
Is there hope for my future? these doubt
